Sharjah Safari

Sharjah Safari, inaugurated by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi on February 17, 2022, is a world-class adventure destination for nature lovers. As the largest safari outside Africa, it offers visitors a chance to explore lush jungles and observe native African wildlife roaming freely in an environment that mirrors their natural habitat. This picturesque setting provides a unique opportunity to experience the wonders of Africa right here in Sharjah.

A new world-class tourist destination for all adventure lovers

Sharjah Safari is home to over 120 animal species and around 50,000 animals, including birds, reptiles, and mammals like lions, elephants, giraffes, and both black and white rhinoceroses, as well as various endangered species.

The safari features 12 different environments inspired by diverse regions of Africa, showcasing the continent’s rich life and terrain. The first area, "To Africa," offers visitors a unique walking experience to explore wildlife endemic to the islands along Africa’s eastern coast. The second region, the Sahel, represents an area filled with deserts and pastures, stretching from Mauritania to Eritrea and rich in diverse wildlife.

The third region, the Savannah, spans eastern and southern Africa and is known for its vast tropical grasslands, which host the planet’s highest biodiversity. The fourth area, the Serengeti, is renowned for the largest animal migration in the world, where herbivores cross the plains and navigate the perilous Mara River, home to Nile crocodiles.

The fifth region, Nkorongoro, is an extinct crater that supports a unique ecosystem with some of Africa's most iconic species. Lastly, the sixth region, Moremi, draws inspiration from the canyons and valleys of southwest Africa, shaped by centuries of monsoon rains, where dry riverbeds contain aquifers that sustain life during the dry season.
