Khor Kalba Fort was constructed around 1745 in the 18th century and spans roughly 1,435 square meters. Beneath the fort, you can find remnants of an ancient village that dates back about 500 years, showcasing the long history of the area. The fort itself was built in two phases: the first started in 1755, and the second wrapped up in 1820. Bait Al Naboodah Museum is a beautifully restored 19th-century house that showcases the rich heritage and cultural history of Sharjah, offering visitors a glimpse into the traditional lifestyle of Emirati families. The charming two-story house features a grand entranceway and a sun-drenched courtyard with walls made of coral, elaborately carved decorations and wind catchers.

At the Sharjah Museum of Islamic Civilization, you'll find an impressive array of artifacts, including astrolabes, manuscripts, ceramics, coins and a must-see gold-embroidered curtain from the door of the Holy Ka’ba and the intricate mosaic in the central dome depicting zodiac constellations. The museum itself is housed in a building as remarkable as its collection, situated on the Corniche, just north of the Heart of Sharjah district.

The museum showcases a variety of fascinating items, including an aftakh—a golden toe ring traditionally worn by Bedouin women—complete with descriptions in both English and Arabic. Younger visitors will also enjoy the interactive folk tales, proverbs, and puzzles featured throughout the museum.

Souq Al Arsah was once a market place for traders from Persia, India and Bedouin tribes.

Buy the freshest fish, meat and produce in this bustling local souk. Located just off the Sharjah corniche, beside an array of fishing boats in the water, Souq Al Jubail stands as a landmark with domes and pillars that are traditional to Islamic architecture.
